Lyrics of Hino Do Senhor Do Bonfim
by Gal Costa

Glória a ti nessa altura sagrada

Desta sagrada colina
Mansão da misericórdia
Dai-nos a graça divina
Da justiça e da concórdia

Translation in English of the Song
Hino Do Senhor Do Bonfim by Gal Costa

Glory to you on this day of glory
Glory to you the redeemer who a hundred years ago
Our parents led you to victory
By the seas and fields of Bahia

From that sacred hill
Mansion of mercy
Give us divine grace
Of justice and concord

Glory to you in that sacred time
You are the eternal lighthouse, you are the guide
You are, sir, sentinel forward
You are the immortal guard of the bay

Of that sacred hill

Mansion of mercy
Give us divine grace
Of justice and concord

At your feet that gave us the right
At your feet that gave us the truth
Treat and rejoice in a fierce respect
Asoul in celebration of your city

From this sacred hill
Mansion of mercy
Give us divine grace
Of justice and concord
