Lyrics of Kongeegen
by Bisse

Ejnar boede i telt hele året
Med sine to schæferhunde

De måtte aflive hans to elskede hunde

Men finder dog aldrig hjem

Købte en is

Men finder dog aldrig hjem

Stor og eksplosiv, revnet over

Men finder dog aldrig hjem
Vi vandrer
Vi vandrer
Vi vandrer
Vi vandre

Translation in English of the Song
Kongeegen by Bisse

Ejnar lived in a tent all year round
With his two German Shepherd dogs
A tent he had built himself
Of tarpaulins

He lived outside at Bregnehøjmosen
Drank alcohol on end of the month
When he could not afford anything else
He burned the public letters
The house had gone to forced auction after his mother's death
No one wants to throw good money after bad
When you get this far
You will not come back again

He was found before he got home to the tent
Was hospitalized
They had to kill his two loved ones dogs
But no one told Ejnar about it
After his mother's death, these two creatures were the most precious thing he had

Grandma visited him
He told her that the dogs were come in the early dawn
The two German Shepherds crawled into bed and lay on either side of him
And they lay there together and watched the sun rise
Grandma asked what the nurses had said to it
Ejnar replied that the dogs had crawled out of bed o g disappeared again before the nurses came in in the morning
And grandma thought
'Now it rattles for Ejnar'
'Now it rattles for Ejnar'
We walk
We wanders
And never comes forth
Lonely are we born to the eternal wandering
Lonely are we born to the wandering of life
We wander over sticks and stones
But find never home

In the apartment opposite, the television has been running every night for the two years I have lived here
Who are the people who live there?
The Mimbres bowls were placed over the deceased's face
And the soul of the dead traveled out through the hole in the bottom of the bowl
The so-called dead hole
The television is the dead hole of my neighbors
The hole that their souls wander through every night
To the strange, colorful sky of the screen fantasies

They wander
They wander
They wander
But never come out

I was on a small adventure yesterday
Wanted to drive to Slangerup to shop
It was early evening a little over six
The weather was great t
I cycled further out of the city
On 14 August 2015
Bought an ice cream
Cycled on to Frederikssund past Willumsens Museum
At Crown Prince Frederik's old drawbridge I stood and enjoyed the evening sun with the diners at the burger bar Route 66
I cycled across the strait and discovered that I was close to Jægerspris Forest
The place where Denmark's oldest living creature stands
Kongeegen
I have wanted to see it for a long time
Now the opportunity was there

I drove along a small gravel bike path and entered the North Forest
The sun was already setting
The trees stood silent and dark green
I found Kongevejen and was led through a nice avenue of old plane trees
At the front Jægerspris Castle appeared
I continued further out on the country road
After fifteen kilometers past fields and heath I came to Kulhuse
I must have driven past Kongeegen

At Kulhuse everything stood still
The last ferry to Frederikssund had left three quarters of an hour ago
Only a short elte bathers still stayed on the beach
I rode my bike all the way down to the water's edge
Tossed my clothes and jumped in
The water was warm and calm
Out on the horizon I saw the sun sink slowly in the sea

It wanders
It wanders
It wanders
And yet never emerges
Lonely is it born for the eternal wandering
Lonely is it was born for the journey of life
It wanders over sticks and stones
But never finds home
I went up again
Wiped myself with my clothes and conferred myself with a hung tourist card
That way I found out I could find Kongeegen by following Strandvejen
But it would soon be dark
I had to hurry
So I raced out along Strandvejen and got quickly into Nordskoven again

A girl came walking towards me
And when we crossed each other I recognized her as one of the girls from high school
A beautiful girl
Short, curly, blonde hair and subtle eyes
I could not remember her name
Bright t was disappearing and I had to find Kongeegen
But maybe I should have stopped and pretended I could not find my way
And maybe she had invited me for a drink
She probably lived in a cottage nearby
Since she was on the go and only wore summer clothes

But I chose Kongeegen and I eventually found it
Large and explosive, cracked over
But still green and alive
The 'oldest oak tree in Northern Europe
Probably from the time Jesus was born
And I let the bygone times and the strangest thoughts flow through me while I stood there
With my little hand on the bark of this 2000-year-old creature

And the summer night sank over the North Forest
All alone I stood there next to this mighty colossus
As I have dreamed for so long to see
When I am one day no longer here
Will it still sprout and shoot its green leaves every spring

We walk
We walk
We wander
But never come forward
We are lonely
